  • Take out your Do Now sheet and answer the following, “What is Humanism? How does it represent a paradigm shift from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance?” (5 minutes)
  • Turn to the story notes page “Italy: Birthplace of the Renaissance” in your packet. Use pages 37-39 in your text to identify setting, characters, and plot. Use the questions in the left-hand column as a guide. (20 minutes)
  • Find page the Renaissance characters activity in the packet (pages 11, 12). Go to a computer, open Safari, and navigate to
  • Use the readings to complete the chart of Renaissance characters.
