APUSH- 12/18/09

I calculated semester grades two different ways.  The first way was the way I described in class.  Since we didn’t have time for a separate unit 4-5 test, I gave that test on the day of the final, but counted it as a regular test.  I then entered your semester average in again as your final exam grade, but weighted at 0% so it couldn’t change your grade.  That method produced higher grades for most of you. The second method was as described in the directives, counting the unit 4-5 test as your final, not as a regular test, and weighting it at 10% of your overall grade.  This made a difference for just a few of you, and in those cases I posted whichever grade was in your favor.
